This pear shaped cabochon of Biggs Picture Jasper has wonderful patterns with a high gloss polish. Biggs Picture Jasper, was discovered about 1965 in Oregon when Hwy 97 was cut through Biggs Canyon and came across this beautiful material. There was a mad scramble to get what could be gotten before the highway was put in. This started a search of the surrounding areas to find more of this material. Several locations were found in the surrounding area but most of the mines are depleted or closed down.
