This cabochon of Mushroom Rhyolite has beautiful patterns. This material gets its name from the repeating gray pattern that every so often looks like a mass of growing mushrooms. The configuration is like an atypical thunder egg structure where most of the thunder eggs did not completely form. The thunder egg started to form an outward appearance, stopped and started again forming the gray overlapping shapes in the rhyolite. In certain areas, a reddish circle of light surrounds the outside of the gray massive thundereggs providing a colorful disparity on the rock.
